LIST OF COMPONENT THAT USED

Posted by Unknown at 22:30 0 comments

Assalammualaikum..

There are several component that is used for this circuit. The component that we used is :

Transistor BC109C

Resistor 100KΩ, 10KΩ and 1KΩ

Capacitor 1uF

L.E.D

Sensor

Buzzer
Battery

I.C NE555

At the same time, these are the tools that also needed in order to complete the circuit.

Drill

Multimeter, sucker, breadboard, solder ion.

Long nose

Cutter

All of the component are needed to produce Wet Diaper Detector.

NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (NICU)

Assalammualaikum..

Figure 1.0 An early incubator (1909)

NICU is another hospital unit that contains a variety of sophisticated mechanic devices and special equipments for treating premature infants and seriously ill newborns. This unit is staffed by a team of highly trained *neonalogists and nurses who specialized in the field of *pathophysiology of newborns.

*Neonatologist is a pediatrician with additional training in the care of sick and premature babies and supervises pediatric fellows and residents, nurse practitioners and nurses who care for babies in the NICU.

*Pathophysiology is the study pathology often involves substantial overlap in diseases and process.

NICU combines advanced technology and trained healthcare professionals to provide intensive care for the neonates. Besides, it also has intermediate or continuing care areas for babies that need specialized nursing care. Although it provides a very great treatment, NICU is limited and only some hospitals have this unit.

The patients usually babies that were born prematurely (born before 37th week of pregnancy), have weight less than 2.5kg or have medical condition such as heart problems, infections and birth defects that requires special treatment.

LITERATURE REVIEW

Assalammualaikum..

Based on the existing product in market, we are planning to innovate the product by improving the circuit and the design.

Studying the existing product

Based from preview research that we have done, we found that our product is already exists in the market. Besides, we noticed that since several years ago, the problem may had been solved. Based on the product that already in the market, we have upgrade some of the methods used in simpler way.

Name of the existing product

Electronic Diaper from Instructable.com

Figure 1.0 An example of existing product in market.

Comparison between our product and existing product.

The existing product used programmed software to detect the moisture. Software used:

1. Digital Diaper Software by Carlitos (Hex and Source code)

2. Eagle Software

3. JAL compiler

4. Tera Term pro (debugging)

Our product :

We are not using any software because it is complicated and time consuming for its production.

So, we choose to create moisture sensor made by ourself.

Figure 1.1 Sensor made by ourself

Our moisture sensor :

We choose this sensor because it is easy to place it inside the diaper. This sensor will works when the water is connected to the copper part. In other words, the less the gap between the copper, the more the sensitivity of the sensor.

After it sense the moisture, it will transfer the input to the I.C NE555 which can be explain on the next post.

WET DIAPER DETECTOR (W.D.D)

Posted by Unknown at 22:00 0 comments

Assalammualaikum..

MY SUPERVISOR : SIR MOHD ZUBIR BIN SUBOH

MY PARTNER : NUR AFIQAH BINTI SAHAMIN (51116210166)

An introduction for WET DIAPER DETECTOR..

Normally nurses, parents and patient guardian have problem in detecting wet diapers. The Wet Diaper Detector is a device that is used to detect the wetness of a diaper. It will triggered through NE555 to give output via buzzer and L.E.D at the same time. From here, the guardians will alert to the presence of wetness in a baby diapers or undergarments.

We select the circuit project first before we choose the name of our project. This is because our project is basically not in the given catalouge of projects, and we have made several changes before deciding our final project due to circuit malfunction during its testing phase with our supervisor.

Figure 1.0 The idea comes from our supervisor.
Thanks to Sir Mohd Zubir.

Wet Diaper Detector is a device for infants with a sensor that monitors child's and eldest comfort level.  It provides instant audible feedback by way of a buzzer as well as a persistent optical sensory notification system by way of an  LED.

It works by the use of wetness condition the diaper which is located at the tip of the probe. When the diaper is wet, current flow across  the leads at the probe.

As soon as any voltage is detected, a buzzer goes off as long as wetness is detected,   LED turns on and stays light indefinitely, however, at the onset of wetness.  So after a diaper change, a reset is required.
